Many within the MMA community came to console ONE bantamweight contender Fabricio Andrade following his no contest with John Lineker, including interim heavyweight champion Anatoly Malykhin.
The Brazilian rising star put forth a stellar performance in his first world title fight at ONE on Prime Video 3. Unfortunately, the bout came to a screeching halt after he hit Lineker with an inadvertent groin strike.
Afterwards, Russia's Malykhin provided some kind words for the emotional Andrade. The 25-year-old spoke to The MMA Superfan about Malykhin's remarks:
"I was really sad and stuff, I didn’t wanna talk with anybody but he went to me and said, ‘Oh, you’re really the champion.' He’s a super nice guy. He was having fun during the warmups and stuff. He had no voice anymore but he was still yelling, ‘And new! And new!’ So I started hearing him and stuff."

Andrade added:
"He was just saying, ‘Yeah, you’re the champion, everybody knows, you showed it, everything was perfect.’ But yeah, I was still sad."

Fabricio Andrade promises to finish Lineker in rematch
It's entirely possible that Andrade was mere seconds away from finishing Lineker in their first meeting. 'Wonder Boy' recently told SCMP MMA about his thoughts on how the rematch will go.
He said:
“For the fans, just keep waiting because this will be my best performance ever. I have everything planned out and I will prepare very well. I already know everything he can do and I’ll make it look easy."
Andrade has already proven that he isn't all talk. He's looking to further that notion in his second bantamweight world title fight. Expect Lineker to make adjustments following the difficulties he faced in the first match.
The rematch in the early portion of 2023 will undoubtedly be one of the most hyped matchups of the year. The bantamweight division will have a king once again.
Make sure to tune in to ONE on Prime Video 7 on February 10 of next year to watch the highly-anticipated rematch between top bantamweights Fabricio Andrade and John Lineker, live from the Jakarta Convention Center in Indonesia.
