"He's been talking a lot of sh*t"- Joe Rogan highlights Alex Pereira’s decision to make Magomed Ankalaev wait despite his dominant run

In a recent episode of The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE), Joe Rogan claimed that Alex Pereira is making Magomed Ankalaev wait for a title shot because he has been talking trash about him.

In episode #2249 of JRE, Rogan said Pereira has to beat challengers at light heavyweight first, before matching up against Jon Jones at heavyweight. The UFC commentator believes Ankalaev is a dangerous opponent for the Brazilian.

Shedding light on Pereira's possible next fight, Rogan said:

"Pereira has challengers in the light heavyweight division especially Ankalaev. He’s supposed to be fighting Ankalaev, Ankalaev is very dangerous and he's I think he's the No. 1 contender and he's been on a winning streak for a long time. He's only got one draw and that was to Jan Blachowicz who was the former champion. So he's like at the top of the heap and he's been waiting for a title shot for a long time, but he's been talking a lot of sh*t and Alex doesn't like that he talks sh*t, so he's like I'm going to make him wait."

Joe Rogan says Alex Pereira is going to fight in March, Magomed Ankalaev not available due to Ramadhan

In the aforementioned episode of his podcast, Joe Rogan said Alex Pereira is going to fight in March and Magomed Ankalaev would be unable to compete because of the holy month of Ramadan which begins on Feb. 28.

Most Muslim UFC fighters do not fight during Ramadan, one of the exceptions being Belal Muhammad. Speaking on Ankalaev's availability, Rogan said:

"I think Alex just said that he's going to fight in March and that he's not going to fight Ankalaev. Because if he's fighting in March... Ankalaev wouldn't be able to fight in March because he's got to go through the entire month of Ramadan preparing for a world title fight. With Ramadan for the whole month, you can eat food but you can only do it after sundown."
