Joe Rogan and Demetrious Johnson have addressed the rumored matchup between Aljamain Sterling and Henry Cejudo.

On an episode of The Joe Rogan Experience earlier this month, Rogan and Johnson notably alluded to Cejudo's impressive work as a fighter and coach at the Fight Ready gym in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Veteran UFC commentator Joe Rogan lauded Cejudo for his contributions to Fight Ready and labeled it "an amazing camp." Additionally, Rogan highlighted the "scientific aspect" of the gym, as Cejudo is known to adopt a highly scientific approach to training. Moreover, Rogan emphasized that Henry Cejudo is "a wizard."

Also, Demetrious Johnson is no stranger to Henry Cejudo. 'Mighty Mouse' defended the UFC bantamweight title by beating Cejudo via first-round TKO in April 2016. Johnson lost the title to 'Triple C' via split decision in their rematch in August 2018.

Johnson, a former UFC flyweight (125-pound) champion and current ONE flyweight (135-pound) champion, foresees Cejudo beating Aljamain Sterling in a potential fight. Discussing the fight with Joe Rogan, Johnson stated:

"I think he [Cejudo] will be fine against Aljamain. I think he beats Aljamain. I do. Henry is probably the most disciplined person I've ever trained with. What I mean by that is, so, Henry will look at somebody and be like, 'Okay, where can I beat him at? That's where I can beat him at? We're not leaving there. We're staying there.'"

Harking back to Cejudo's second-round TKO win over Dominick Cruz in May 2020, Johnson further explained that 'Triple C' strictly stuck to his strategy of repeatedly targeting Cruz's legs as he viewed it as his best path to victory. 'Mighty Mouse' continued:

"But that's where me and him thrive because we question each other's skillset, on a humble way, if that makes sense. So, I think when he decides to come back, he'll be fine against 'Aljo' because he's just f**king smart."

A potential delay in the Aljamain Sterling vs. Henry Cejudo dream matchup

Former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion Henry Cejudo retired from MMA after beating Dominick Cruz in May 2020. However, Cejudo re-entered the USADA testing pool earlier this year. There's been speculation that he could fight reigning UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling for the latter's belt at UFC 284 on February 12th, 2023.

The Sterling-Cejudo matchup hasn't been officially confirmed yet. Furthermore, Aljamain Sterling has now claimed he won't be fighting again until June 2023. This leaves 'Funk Master's' UFC 284 matchup against Henry Cejudo in limbo. Nevertheless, fans can expect additional details concerning the Sterling-Cejudo dream matchup to unravel soon.
