Stephen Loman is heading into the biggest fight of his career, and his teammate Jeremy Pacatiw believes that the Filipino star holds one distinct advantage over Bibiano Fernandes.

Loman will take on the former ONE bantamweight world champion at ONE on Prime Video 4: Abbasov vs. Lee. The event is set for November 18 and will go down at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

The fight is the most important in Loman’s career and a win could propel him to a shot at the now-vacant ONE bantamweight world title.

In an interview with The MMA Super-Fan, Pacatiw said that Loman’s inherent youth will be his biggest advantage against Fernandes:

“I think the biggest advantage of Stephen is he has the head movement, he has a good set-up, and he’s young.”

Loman, 27, is 15 years younger than Fernandes, the No.1-ranked bantamweight contender. However, that alone doesn’t show just how dangerous the Team Lakay star is. The No.4-ranked bantamweight contender has had a brilliant start to his ONE Championship career, going 2-0 since arriving in promotion in December 2021.

Loman scored a first-round knockout over Yusup Saadulaev in his debut fight at ONE: Winter Warriors II. He followed that up with a methodical unanimous decision win against Shoko Sato at ONE X this past March.

Fernandes, though, is a legend of the sport and his previous reigns atop the bantamweight division are two of the longest in ONE Championship history. The Brazilian’s first reign with the ONE bantamweight world championship lasted from 2013 until 2018. His second went from 2019 until 2022.
