"Before Superlek challenges Jonathan Haggerty for the ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Title in the main event of ONE 168: Denver on September 6, "The Kicking Machine" revisits his iconic victories over Rodtang and Takeru!"
In the video, 'The Kicking Machine' narrated his state of mind when he was in the ring with 'The Iron Man' and 'The Natural Born Crusher.' First, he survived a massive cut in the opening round of his September 2023 clash with Rodtang at ONE Friday Fights 34 to eke out a unanimous decision win.
Then, four months later, Superlek weathered a barrage of combinations in the third round of his championship showdown with Takeru at ONE 165 in January 2024 to pull off another masterful decision win and remain as the undisputed flyweight kickboxing king.
This impeccable run of Superlek has garnered massive praise from fans, especially from users @KizokuOniiUzumaki, @mattias60, and @burningknuckle26, who commented:
"That giggle when he looked at the picture of Takeru's leg 😂😂. He is a savage."
"Superlek is a legend ❤️"
"I believe Superlek will successfully move up in weight and KO haggerty and win the belt."
Superlek will now try to add another piece of ONE Championship gold when he faces Haggerty in Denver.
Haggerty also holds the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title.
Superlek Kiatmoo9 wants to repeat victory over Jonathan Haggerty without the referee's intervention
In 2018, Superlek Kiatmoo9 and Jonathan Haggerty had already fought outside of ONE Championship, and their match ended in a TKO stoppage in favor of the former because of the nasty cut the latter suffered in the second round.
Six years later, the Thai megastar wants to prove that he can win a fight over 'The General' without the referee stopping it prematurely. Superlek revealed this in one of his recent interviews with ONE Championship.
ONE 168: Denver will transpire at the Ball Arena in U.S. primetime on Sept. 6. Tickets for the event are available at Ticketmaster.
