Floyd Mayweather Jr. has just offered his reaction to the proposed Rolly Romero vs. Ryan Garcia boxing match. He took to Instagram, where he described the bout as one of the most anticipated fights of the year. However, the sincerity of his words were questioned by countless fans.
A screenshot of his post was shared on X, and many flocked to the thread under the tweet, which was shared by boxing journalist Michael Benson. Several fans wondered whether Mayweather was taking a dig at his old rival and fellow boxing promoter, Oscar De La Hoya.
One fan even doubted that Mayweather himself wrote the Instagram caption in question.

"That ain’t Floyd, you know damn well he ain’t saying “bombs away.”"
Another, however, referenced Garcia's lone loss.
"Tanks sons"
Others, though, referenced Mayweather's rivalry with De La Hoya.
"Great fight! Floyd is still bullying Oscar"
"Floyd loves trolling Oscar, he's adopted his money son"
A collage of fan reactions can be seen below:
Prior to the matchup with Romero being at the forefront, Garcia was considering a fight with Devin Haney. 'The Dream' is currently undefeated and coming off a dominant unanimous decision win over Regis Prograis.
Regardless, fans feel that Mayweather's reaction to the matchup is far from sincere. Many have referenced his past rivalry with De La Hoya, with Mayweather taking their feud to deeply personal lengths by outing 'The Golden Boy' as a cross-dresser.
The pair ultimately crossed swords in the squared circle, with Mayweather scraping by with a split-decision win to capture the WBC light middleweight title.
Floyd Mayweather Jr. once fought a Japanese kickboxing star
Floyd Mayweather Jr.'s first step into the exhibition boxing world saw him take on flashy Japanese kickboxing sensation Tenshin Nasukawa. The bout was an extremely dominant affair in Mayweather's favor, as the legendary pugilist TKO'd his much smaller foe in round one.

The exaggerated manner in which Nasukawa reacted to Mayweather's blows, as well as the abrupt conclusion, led to several accusations of match-fixing. Regardless, Mayweather escaped the bout unscathed and has gone on to face others in similar exhibitions.
