Third-ranked ONE Championship featherweight MMA contender 'The Cobra' Shamil Gasanov of Russia turned in one of his best performances to date in the world's largest martial arts organization.
The 29-year-old Peresvet Fight Team and Tiger Muay Thai representative put together a well-rounded fight against tough Turkish opponent 'No Mercy' Halil Amir at ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video last weekend, and came away with a unanimous decision after three impressive rounds of action.
After the fight, Gasanov was quick to give Amir props, and said the Turkish star was likely one of the toughest opponents he had ever faced.

Gasanov told the media at the official ONE Fight Night 26 on Prime Video post-fight interview session backstage:
"Halil [Amir] came well-prepared, and physically, he was very strong. My goal was to make him work and tire him out. Halil is a strong fighter. I think he could beat many of the top five guys in the division."

Russian featherweight MMA star 'The Cobra' Shamil Gasanov won't sugarcoat things and say his fight camps have all been perfect.
The 29-year-old star has admitted to dealing with tough training regimens where his mental strength was tested.
Gasanov told ONE Championship:
"The key is to be physically ready. Mental readiness comes when you’ve trained hard, stuck to your routine, and avoided slacking off. If you haven’t done that, doubts about yourself are inevitable."
