'Reug Reug' Oumar Kane was delighted to have gained a victory over Boucher Ketchup, particularly because his fellow compatriot had too much of a field day on the mic in the lead-up to their heavyweight kickboxing fixture at ONE Fight Night 23.
The promotional newcomer delivered a lot of smack talk in the weeks leading up to his first appearance on the global stage inside the Lumpinee Stadium on July 5. Unfortunately, he failed to walk the talk as 'Reug Reug' did what he promised to do – gain an early night out in the office against Ketchup.
While happy with the win, the Black Panther Sports and ReugReug MMA representative highlighted that part of his ability to do so came down to the fact that he wanted to shut his opposite number for all the shots fired his way.
The 32-year-old told the South China Morning Post:

"Even though he wasn't on the same level, this guy, Ketchup, he was talking too much, you know. He's coming [real fast], but I controlled the game, and Alhamdulillah, I won."

'Reug Reug' confident he can maintain winning ways at ONE 169: Atlanta
Though he'd be up against three-division MMA king Anatoly Malykhin next, 'Reug Reug' is sure that he has it in him to do the unimaginable at ONE 169: Atlanta on November 8.
The Senegalese warrior squares off against the undefeated Russian for the ONE heavyweight world title.
Offering his prediction on this hotly anticipated showdown, 'Reug Reug' claimed that the divisional king might not even make it out of the first round:
"He is big and tough, but you can only withstand the axe so much when you're being chopped down. My prediction is a first-round head kick KO!" he told ONE Championship recently.
The 32-year-old superstar is riding on a four-match winning streak as he gets his weapons battle-ready for 'Sladkiy' in four months. Meanwhile, Malykhin boasts a 14-0 resume, and he'll be game to walk out of the venue with his record intact.
The record-breaking triple champ was last in action at ONE 166: Qatar, where he beat Reinier de Ridder via TKO in round three to claim his third MMA world title.
