Lito Adiwang believes Jarred Brooks will have "full power" at flyweight.
In November 2021, Brooks made his ONE Championship debut in the strawweight MMA division. 'The Monkey God' has since established a 5-1 promotional record (three submissions), captured his division's world title, and recently became the interim title holder after losing the undisputed throne.
Brooks' next challenge will be to temporarily leave the strawweight MMA division and test himself at flyweight. The American superstar is scheduled to face Reece McLaren on December 6 at ONE Fight Night 26.
Longtime strawweight contender Lito Adiwang was asked about Brooks' division change during an interview with ONE. Adiwang had this to say:

"I don’t want to underestimate the ground game of Reece McLaren, but I think Jarred Brooks has a better advantage in this aspect. He doesn’t need to cut as much as in strawweight, so he will be at full power."
ONE Fight Night 26 will air live from the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. Next Friday's event featuring Reece McLaren vs. Jared Brooks and two world title fights can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.
Lito Adiwang maintains strong presence in ONE strawweight MMA title picture
Between late 2021 and early 2022, Lito Adiwang suffered consecutive losses against Jarred Brooks and Jeremy Miado. The defeat against Miado was a significant setback as he suffered a torn ACL, leaving him sidelined for over a year.
Since then, 'Thunder Kid' has bounced back with a three-fight winning streak against Adrian Mattheis (23-second knockout), Miado (unanimous decision in a rematch), and Danial Williams (unanimous decision).
Adiwang may not be ranked in the ONE strawweight MMA division, but he's arguably one solid win away from a title shot.
Earlier this year, Joshua Pacio regained strawweight gold due to a disqualification win against Brooks. 'The Monkey God' is moving up to flyweight while Pacio recovers from a torn ACL, pushing their inevitable trilogy fight to early 2025.
In the meantime, Adiwang looks to secure another win and potentially face the winner of Pacio vs. Brooks 3 next year.
