Reigning bantamweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion Jonathan Haggerty's claim to fame early on was his signature tomahawk elbows.
While those piercing weapons are no doubt one of 'The General's' best strikes, Anatoly Malykhin believes he might soon meet an opponent who throws sharper elbows than he does.
Speaking to ONE Championship in an exclusive interview, the Russian three-division MMA world champion gave his two cents on arguably the biggest striking showdown of the year.
On September 6, live in US primetime, Haggerty will defend his bantamweight Muay Thai crown against flyweight Muay Thai king Superlek Kiatmoo9 at ONE 168: Denver at Ball Arena.

'Sladkiy', for his part, believes Superlek's impeccable clinch work and ability to deal damage in close range could spell trouble for the British striker. The triple champ said:
"Superlek is big for this weight class and works very well with his elbows often cutting his opponents. His advantage will be elbow strikes and size."
The devastating effects of Superlek's elbows were in full display in the 'Muay Thai Fight of the Century' between him and Rodtang.
'The Kicking Machine' dropped 'The Iron Man' with a wicked elbow in round two, which ultimately rewarded him the unanimous decision win after three rounds.
Haggerty, meanwhile, has been rejuvenated since moving up to bantamweight and claiming two-sport supremacy. We'll soon see whose elbows will prevail at ONE 168: Denver.
Anatoly Malykhin says Jonathan Haggerty-Superlek clash will be a battle of mental fortitude
It's truly hard to gauge a battle between two of the greatest strikers on the planet right now, especially based on skills alone.
As far as Malykhin is concerned when two supremely talented individuals clash, it could all boil down to who wants it more.
The heavyweight, light heavyweight, and middleweight MMA king added:
"Haggerty is on a roll right now, but Superlek has been performing beautifully. I think the winner will be the one who is mentally better prepared because both of them have proven their skills in the ring."
