Although it may not have been what they wanted, Jonathan Haggerty could not have been prouder of his younger brother Freddie.
Freddie fell to Jordan Estupinan via unanimous decision in their flyweight Muay Thai matchup in a proper show opener at ONE 170 this Friday at Impact Arena in Bangkok.
Jonathan, the reigning ONE bantamweight kickboxing world champion, was in Freddie's corner to guide the rising star in one of the biggest fights of his career.
Freddie, however, suffered two knockdowns in the second round and found himself racing against time in the third frame of his flyweight debut.

Nevertheless, Jonathan was proud of the heart his younger brother showed against Estupinan.
Jonathan Haggerty posted on his Instagram Stories:
"Absolute warrior! Moved up in weight to test himself. Not the result we wanted but I am super proud of you! Heart of a lion. Love you bro ❤️"
Freddie was an absolute war machine when he made his debut under the ONE Championship banner in January 2024.
Exclusively fighting under strawweight, Freddie racked up three straight knockout wins against Dankalong Sor Dechapan, Kaichon Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang, and Kaoklai Chor Hapayak.
The 20-year-old then took on the challenge of climbing up 10 pounds to the 135-pound flyweight division to face off against the undefeated Estupinan.
Freddie was as aggressive as he could, but Estupinan switched to a higher gear in the second round and dropped the British upstart twice with diabolical overhand rights.
Determined to steal the thunder, Freddie mounted a late comeback in the third and worked Estupinan's midsection.
Time, however, wasn't on Freddie's side and Estupinan eventually claimed the unanimous decision win.
Jonathan Haggerty lays out his plan after ONE 171
Jonathan Haggerty is set to take on one of the biggest fights of his career when he defends the ONE bantamweight kickboxing world title against Wei Rui at ONE 171: Qatar on Feb. 20 at Lusail Sports Arena.
While he's focused entirely on his world title defense, Haggerty is also looking forward to the life he'll live after his match against the Chinese superstar.
Haggerty said in an interview with ONE Championship he wants to start a family with partner Kenzie Draper and open his gym Haggerty Academy.
"I'm looking to start a family myself if I'm honest. If it happens, I'll be buzzing. I'm continuing to go forward in this game too. I'm opening up my own gym, Haggerty Academy. I think I'll be doing that after this fight and start working on the next generation both in the gym and in my house."
