Gilbert Burns was left with feelings of frustration following his unanimous decision defeat to Sean Brady at UFC Vegas 97 on Sept. 7. The Brazilian was hoping to turn his career momentum around after suffering two consecutive losses before he clashed with Brady.

But the Philadelphia native proved to be too much for 'Durinho', with the former title challenger struggling to find his rhythm throughout the fight. Following the bout, Burns was interviewed by ESPN MMA, where he looked back on a tough night in the octagon, saying:

"A little bit disappointed. I know I can fight hard, but I didn't let go. I felt great this whole week, I felt good in the training camp. This morning the shake out was great, but I felt when I got [into the octagon] I didn't flow. It just didn't flow, nothing was good, he was quick. I was kind of seeing the punches, he hit a couple of good takedowns, a couple of good shots."

"I couldn't let it go. I've got to go back to the lab, back to the gym. Talk to Henri [Hooft] and see. We'll watch the fight, that's what s*cks about that. It's not even the loss the itself."

Sean Brady welcomes grappling match versus Gilbert Burns following UFC Vegas 97 win

Sean Brady and Gilbert Burns are two of the best submission grapplers in the UFC's welterweight division, and the pair shared several exciting grappling exchanges during their recent fight.

Brady picked up a decision victory over world class Brazilian jiu-jitsu athlete Craig Jones when the pair faced off at Fury Pro Grappling in 2021. 'Durinho' himself has won several world titles at the IBJJF World Championships.

Given their respective grappling skills, the Philadelphia fighter was asked to share his thoughts on facing Burns in a grappling match after defeating him at UFC Vegas 97.

He said this:

"Yeah, I mean me and Gilbert can still grapple. I would love to do a grappling event against him for maybe UFC Fight Pass. I said it earlier in the week, that it's an MMA fight. People just think I'm a grappler, and I feel like tonight I really proved that I am a complete mixed martial arts fighter."
