Sean O'Malley recently took to Twitter to declare himself the bantamweight champion, drawing responses from Henry Cejudo and Aljamain Sterling. The No.1-ranked bantamweight stated:

"I’m the Champ and it feels great"

Cejudo responded by claiming he holds advantages in several key aspects while calling out the judges from O'Malley's UFC 280 split decision victory over Petr Yan. The former double champ stated:

"Hey @SugaSeanMMA I have the advantage in Wrestling, Striking and Cardio…you have the advantage in Meth, Blind Judges and 69 Tattoos. See you soon hoe!"

Sterling, who is currently the bantamweight champion, simply laughed off O'Malley's claim, stating:

"Lol"

Despite O'Malley labeling himself as the bantamweight champion, he is yet to fight for the title. The No.1-ranked bantamweight appears in line to face the winner of the rumored upcoming title fight between Cejudo and Sterling.

The bout is yet to be announced as the current champion is currently recovering from a torn bicep tendon. O'Malley recently took to Twitter to call Cejudo out for a clash while Sterling recovers from his injury.

Aljamain Sterling accuses Henry Cejudo of running, says loss to Sean O'Malley will end title opportunity

Sean O'Malley has called for an opportunity to face Henry Cejudo while Aljamain Sterling recovers from a torn bicep tendon. The former double champ responded by noting that he is willing to fight whenever and wherever. Aljamain Sterling recently accused Cejudo of avoiding him.

The bantamweight champion took to Twitter, stating:

".@HenryCejudo Why you running Tubbs? I never said the fight is off! I’m handling my bicep with the UFC team and doctors. You can wait another month to get your 🍑 kicked. Because if you lose to @SugaSeanMMA, kiss your chance goodbye to face the real King."

Cejudo responded by accusing Sterling of hitting on him, as he stated:

"Stop hitting on me I’m taken 😘"

While Cejudo and the UFC have been looking to schedule the bantamweight title bout in 2023, Sterling has claimed that he won't be ready until April due to his injury. It is unclear why the former double champ is unwilling to wait a month, however, as Sterling noted, a loss to O'Malley would likely derail his chances of regaining the bantamweight title that he held for nearly a year before his sudden retirement.
