" I see a Benjamin with all these dudes" - Henry Cejudo explains decision to step out of retirement

Henry Cejudo has been retired since he vacated the belt in May 2020 after his victory over Dominick Cruz at UFC 249. However, 'Triple C' has hinted at coming back consistently throughout his retirement.

Cejudo's intent to return to the octagon is beginning to gain traction. Talks of a fight with current bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling have already begun. 'Triple C' has also named current UFC pound-for-pound No.1 Alexander Volkanovski as a potential opponent.

Henry Cejudo appeared on Michael Bisping's podcast, Believe You Me and said that he sees an opportunity to make a lot of money by coming back to the UFC:

"I see dollar signs on these people. Aljamain Sterling I see a Benjamin, Sean O'Malley I see a Benjamin. I see a Benjamin with all these dudes. I'm motivated to stop people, kill people and to get paid for it. That's it dude, I'm just a hitman."

Henry Cejudo appears to be losing some weight in preparation for a potential comeback at bantamweight. The weight class has been labeled as the most stacked division in the UFC by the likes of John McCarthy. So there will be plenty of potential opponents for Cejudo's comeback fight.

Henry Cejudo picks Alex Pereira to beat Israel Adesanya at UFC 281

Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira are set to face off in the main event of this weekend's UFC 281 PPV event. The event will take place at Madison Square Garden, the Mecca of combat sports.

The matchup between 'The Last Stylebender' and 'Poatan' is highly anticipated due to the pair's history. Pereira has already beaten Adesanya twice in the kickboxing ring, knocking the champion out cold in their second encounter.

Some feel that the two losses will be too much for the Nigerian-born Kiwi to overcome. But others have pointed out that Adesanya's vast experience in MMA, when compared to Pereira's, will help him beat 'Poatan'.

However, according to Henry Cejudo, unless Adesanya incorporates wrestling into his gameplan, he will no longer be the champion. Whilst breaking down the matchup on his YouTube channel, 'Triple C' said:

"I have to go with Alex Pereira for the simple fact that his kicks, his striking, he's focused more on that. And I'm just not sure if Israel Adesanya has that IQ to be able to show wrestling. To be able to do certain things that we haven't seen. Against a guy that he's 0-2 against."
