Henry Cejudo prepares to make his UFC return in the coming weeks and he has recently spoken about his upcoming opponent. Song Yadong will share the cage with the former Olympic gold medalist wrestler at UFC Fight Night Seattle in the main event on Feb. 22.

Returning to the cage after a decision loss to the reigning bantamweight champion Merab Dvalishvili, Cejudo took to his personal podcast platform to delve into his comeback after over a year on the shelf.

In a clip from a recent episode of the Pound 4 Pound podcast, the former UFC flyweight and bantamweight champion got into some specifics relating to his next contest. While there were some details he was opting to save for the contest, 'Triple C' spoke of how much he liked the fight when he said:

"I have a good gameplan set in place for a guy that is about ten years younger than me. Song is a tough opponent and I like it. But I just; I can see myself stopping this dude, Kamaru. I really can. If you want to know the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, he's gonna need a lot more than fortune kicks let me tell you."

Henry Cejudo's blast from the past at UFC Seattle

Henry Cejudo taking on Song Yadong is not the only bantamweight bout of consequence set for UFC Seattle. The other high-stakes matchup at 135 pounds also features a familiar foe from Cejudo's past. Dominick Cruz will also be battling Rob Font on this card with many becoming intrigued by the thought that previous adversaries in Cruz and Cejudo could likely cross paths during fight week.

The 37-year-old was asked about this during a recent interview with Dylan Rush where a memorable photo from their UFC 249 fight was being referenced. It seemed like Cejudo would not be opposed to running it back again with Dominick Cruz someday but seemed largely unbothered by the overall situation because he won the first fight.

In May 2020, Dominick Cruz was finished by Henry Cejudo after a knee and torrent of punches put out the former divisional kingpin in the waning seconds of round two. This saw Cejudo retain his UFC bantamweight title and briefly retire from the sport of mixed martial arts thereafter.

This is the last recorded MMA win for the California native as Cejudo has since lost on points to then-bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling in a failed title bid. This transpired before Cejudo experienced that aforementioned decision loss to current titleholder Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 298 in February of last year.
