Herb Dean recently recalled that chaotic aftermath to Khabib Nurmagomedov vs. Conor McGregor at UFC 229 and his reaction to what unfolded. Immediately following the bout, 'The Eagle' jumped over the fence and attacked the Irishman's team resulting in a brawl ensuing.

The animosity between 'The Eagle' and 'The Notorious' was very personal as they both took jibes at each other. The pre-fight press conference alone was a strong indicator as religion, nationalities, and families were brought up, which clearly put the UFC on high alert to ensure nothing escalated that would jeopardize the main event.

However, the fight didn't settle anything as Nurmagomedov was enraged even after securing a submission win and successful lightweight title defense.

During his latest appearance on Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson's JAXXON PODCAST, the veteran MMA referee recalled what was going through his mind when the brawl ensued. Dean mentioned that he stepped in to stop the fight after McGregor tapped to Nurmagomedov but jokingly explained why he didn't get involved when the Dagestani jumped over the fence:

"When it first started, [Nurmagomedov's] holding on to the choke. I get him to let go, he's still on [McGregor]. I'm kinda standing in-between them. All of a sudden, he's over talking to somebody else and then I tried to keep him from going out or something, but then once it got to that point, I'm like, this is beyond my job. This is everybody else's job. My job is done."
