Khamzat Chimaev vs. Colby Covington assessed by UFC welterweight Max Griffin

UFC welterweight fighter Max Griffin recently weighed in on a potential clash between Khamzat Chimaev and Colby Covington. Griffin, who scored a split-decision win over Tim Means last Saturday, made his UFC debut against Covington in 2016.

Having been on the receiving end of a third-round KO against Covington, Griffin believes 'Chaos's pressure is unmatched in the UFC. According to 'Pain', Covington has a good chance of beating Chimaev.

Griffin also believes that Khamzat Chimaev lost his iconic UFC 273 war against Gilbert Burns but was gifted with the decision win to keep his budding star power running. The Californian told Andrew Whitelaw in an exclusive interview with Sportskeeda MMA:

"I think he does, if he could be on him. Khamzat's beatable but he's always been a hammer. He's always been a hammer. I thought Gilbert Burns had a great fight against him, I thought he won. But it's what it is. It's political. You can't have Khamzat lose. That would destroy everything. That would ruin all this charade. But I do like Colby. I think Colby can put the pressure on him. Yeah, his pressure is unmatched."

Max Griffin says Khamzat Chimaev is the most annoying fighter in UFC and Francis Ngannou will make a good movie star

In the same exclusive interview with Sportskeeda, Max Griffin also answered a rapid-fire session about the UFC roster. He didn't have an answer when asked to pick the best striker in the UFC. However, in good humor, 'Pain' proposed his own name.

Griffin had only one name in mind, Khamzat Chimaev, when asked about the most annoying UFC fighter. When asked who would make the best movie star, 'Pain' named UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou.
