Hollywood actor David Corenswet, also known as the next 'Superman,' outscored Alex Pereira in grip strength.

In July 2025, highly-credentialed director and producer James Gunn will release 'Superman: Legacy.' The upcoming movie features Corenswet as Clark Kent (Superman), Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor.

Corenswet, Brosnahan, and Hoult recently joined forces to promote their new film with various interviews. During one of their media appearances, Kent and Hoult, who are enemies in 'Superman: Legacy,' competed in a test of grip strength.

Corenswet did a phenomenal job representing his character, scoring an impressive 172 pounds of grip strength. Meanwhile, Hoult wasn't close to defeating his co-star with his score of 118 pounds.

Corenswet's score was even higher than UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira's (159.2). In October, Pereira used the same machine to test his strength before fighting Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307.

What's next for Alex Pereira in the UFC?

In late 2023, Alex Pereira claimed the vacant UFC light heavyweight championship against Jiri Prochazka. The Brazilian legend has since defended his throne against Jamahal Hill, Prochazka, and most recently Khalil Rountree Jr.

Heading into 2025, Pereira has several potential opponents, with one standing out amongst the MMA community.

No.1-ranked Magomed Ankalaev is riding an eleven-fight winning streak, including one no-contest against Johnny Walker. Ankalaev had a strong argument for deserving a light heavyweight title shot earlier this year, but the UFC controversially awarded the opportunity to Rountree Jr.

Ankalaev and Pereira have established an intense rivalry, with the former accusing the light heavyweight champion of avoiding the matchup. As a result, Pereira has claimed he won't advocate for the fight to make Ankalaev frustrated.

There aren't any light heavyweight contenders more deserving of a title shot than Ankalaev. With that said, Pereira could look to secure a massive super-fight against a champion from another division.

UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones has called for a fight against Pereira. Dana White has claimed the matchup won't be next, ensuring Jones will face interim champion Tom Aspinall to unify the heavyweight division.
