Double ONE world champion Christian Lee has established himself not only as among the most highly skilled fighters in ONE Championship but also one of the more resilient. He showcased that in his title clash against Russian powerhouse Kiamrian Abbasov three years ago.

'The Warrior' took 'Brazen' in an all-champion clash for the vacant welterweight world title at ONE on Prime Video 4 on Nov. 19, 2022 in Singapore. Lee rallied back from a knockdown in the opening round to chalk up a fourth-round TKO victory over the former welterweight king.

Lee was felled early with a left hook from Abbasov, who followed it up with a barrage of strikes. The Singaporean-American fighter, however, was able to survive the onslaught and regained his footing as the fight wore on.

He completed the comeback in the fourth round when he connected on telling punches and leg kicks that took a toll on Abbasov. Lee then took the game on the ground, where he dominated with devastating ground strikes until the referee saw enough to waive off the fight in the 4:20 mark of the penultimate frame.

The win made Christian Lee a double world champion as he also held the lightweight MMA gold. He, however, had to take a self-imposed break after to mourn the untimely passing of younger sister and fellow ONE fighter Victoria in December 2022.

Christian Lee looks to redeem himself after no-contest outcome in return

Christian Lee's self-imposed break ended back in December at ONE Fight Night 26 against Turkish fighter Alibeg Rasulov. Unfortunately, it resulted in a no contest, which he is looking to redeem himself from in a possible rematch.

The reigning lightweight king was defending his belt and was making major inroads when he unintentionally poked the eye of the challenger in the second round. Rasulov was given time to recover but was eventually ruled unable to continue and the match was declared a no contest.

In the post-event press conference, Lee was asked about the possibility of a rematch, answering in the affirmative, saying:

"I'm not sure what the immediate plans are going to be. But yeah, if they offer me that rematch again, I'm going to take it so I can finish it."

Christian Lee has an overall record of 17-4 in ONE Championship.
