Demetrious Johnson will always hold ONE Championship close to his heart.

Despite retiring from mixed martial arts last September, 'Mighty Mouse' revealed that he will still be involved with the world's largest martial arts organization.

While the home of martial arts has indeed become a global sports giant, 'DJ' wants to continue helping ONE gain even more traction around the world.

The MMA GOAT candidate shared in a recent interview with MMA Fighting:

"That's what we're working through right now, how can I help the company and build other athletes? And what I want to start doing is bringing more eyeballs to ONE Championship and getting more energy with their athletes, right? Like finding the right athlete, telling their story, and being able to shape the company in a certain way, how it's different from the UFC."

Through its amazing roster of elite fighters in MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling, ONE Championship has been able to showcase martial arts in its purest form.

Demetrious Johnson, of course, has certainly been the perfect ambassador for the promotion. 'DJ' even competed in a historic mixed-rules match against Rodtang Jitmuangnon in 2022, which has no doubt added to his legacy even more.

Demetrious Johnson shares heartfelt conversation with Chatri Sityodtong about his decision to retire

Prior to his emotional send-off at ONE 168: Denver in Colorado, Demetrious Johnson first told ONE Chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong about hanging up his gloves for good.

In the same interview with MMA Fighting, the American all-time great relayed how the ONE head honcho fully supported his decision.

"He was honest and transparent with me, and he was like, ‘Man, I was really hoping you were going to come back and fight, I was hanging on, just because I know you're still young, you can still fight. I know you've always taken care of your body. I was really hoping to see you fight. But if your wish is to never fight again, then I am not in a position to force you to fight."
