UFC 229: Khabib v McGregor Press Conference

UFC 229 was one of the biggest fight cards of the decade. Two of the most feared and dominant fighters going at each other for the title. The event took place at the T-Mobile Arena in the fight capital of the world, Las Vegas.

Conor McGregor fighting Khabib Nurmagomedov was the MMA equivalent of Floyd Mayweather vs. Manny Pacquiao. Sales for the fight were the highest number ever recorded in the company. Khabib vs. McGregor sold 2.4 million PPV buys and made an estimated $180 million through just PPVs.

UFC 229 is the highest-grossing PPV event in the history of the company and the card did not disappoint. Khabib Nurmagomedov established himself as the king of the division after choking out Conor McGregor in dominant fashion. It was also McGregor's 4th fight that sold over 1 million PPVs, which is also another first in the history of the company.

Conor McGregor shares his thoughts on the UFC 229 main event against Khabib Nurmagomedov

For probably the first time in his career, Conor McGregor was dominated inside the octagon on the way to a loss. Khabib Nurmagomedov was slow to start, but once he got going, he changed the entire dynamic of the fight and pressured a tiring McGregor whose gas tank seemed to be running on fumes.

Following his loss, 'The Notorious' shared his thoughts on the fight:

"What can I say? It was a great fight and it was my pleasure. I will be back with my confidence high. Fully prepared. If it is not the rematch right away, no problem. I will face the next in line. It's all me always, anyway. See you soon my fighting fans I love you all."

Conor McGregor gave a round-by-round analysis from his perspective, also claiming he won a few rounds of the fight. However, fans in the comments section did not agree with the former lightweight champion, who was 'dominated' inside the ring by Nurmagomedov.
