Chase Hooper was handed a vicious TKO defeat at the hands of Steve Garcia at UFC Vegas 63 this past Saturday. It was the first time 'The Dream' has been finished in his professional MMA career.
Garcia landed three knockdowns before hammering away with ground-and-pound to end the fight 1:32 into round one. It was a strong showing from the Jackson Wink MMA standout, who bounced back from his loss to Maheshate Hayisaer in June.

Steve Garcia wasn't expecting knockout win over Chase Hooper, envisioned the fight to go the distance
Steve Garcia picked up one of the biggest wins of his career with an impressive TKO victory against Chase Hopper. However, 'Mean Machine' wasn't expecting such an early finish.
During his post-fight interaction with the media, Garcia stated that he envisioned the fight going the full three rounds:
"I envisioned a 15-minute fight. I know how tough he is. I've seen him fight after fight and I'm actually a fan of him. I saw him take a lot of shots, take a lot of damage. It doesn't really faze him. So, I didn't expect to go a first-round knockout finish... Realistically, I thought it was going to be a 15-minute, just battle, war, and we're just going to go out there and we're just going to pick each other apart."

Chase Hooper has struggled for consistency inside the octagon. With his latest outing, the 23-year-old is now 3-3 under the promotional banner, alternating between wins and losses since his debut.
Hooper (11-3-1) has five wins by submission and four wins by knockout over his 15-fight MMA career.
Hooper was a highly touted young prospect when he arrived in the UFC. The Washington native entered the promotional ranks in December 2019 on the strength of a 10-fight unbeaten run (one draw) and became the youngest fighter to be signed by the company at the time.
