Following his win over Dillian Whyte in April 2022, Fury declared that he was retiring from boxing. During an interview with talkSPORT immediately following his announcement, Fury explained his decision, stating:

"I've been in this game for nearly 20 years - amateur and professional. I'm 34 in a few months. I said the third Wilder fight would be my last but I felt I owed the fans one last showdown. Doing it here at Wembley was phenomenal but, I say, this is definitely the end of the Gypsy King and I went out with a bang."

Fury officially announced his retirement in August 2022, relinquishing The Ring heavyweight title. However, he made a comeback to face Derek Chisora in December 2022, winning the fight by a 10th-round TKO.

In October 2023, Fury secured a closely contested split-decision victory over former UFC heavyweight champion Francis Ngannou. Unfortunately, Fury suffered back-to-back defeats against Oleksandr Usyk in 2024. Amid speculation about a potential long-awaited fight against Anthony Joshua, Fury announced his retirement for the second time on Jan. 13.

In a social media video, he said:

"I'm going to make it short and sweet. I'd like to announce my retirement from boxing. It's been a blast. I've loved every single minute of it. I'm going to end with this, 'Dick Turpin wore a mask.' God bless everybody, I'll see you on the other side."

Frank Warren reacts to Tyson Fury's retirement

Boxing promoter and Tyson Fury's manager, Frank Warren, reacted to his retirement announcement during a recent interview with TNT Sports. Warren, who heavily criticized the scorecards from Fury's recent fight against Oleksandr Usyk, commented on his retirement:

"God bless him. If that's what he wants to do, that's what he should do. I've said it all along. No one should be trying to influence him in the boxing world. What he should do is up to him, at the end of the day - after consulting his family and making discussions. He has made a lot of money, he's had a fantastic career..."
