Allycia Hellen Rodrigues was able to capture the ONE atomweight Muay Thai world championship from Stamp Fairtex back in 2020. Soon after, the Brazilian striker took time away from the ONE circle as she gave birth to her son.
Time away and raising a family has not dulled her edge at all. In fact, Rodrigues claims that this aspect has motivated her even more. In an interview with ONE Championship, the Brazilian world champion explained:
"I was at the peak of my career and had just won the belt, but we were also facing a pandemic right at the time. So, I believe that everything that has happened in my life has been at the right time."
It was not easy for Allycia Hellen Rodrigues to get back into the gym, but she kept pushing with unyielding determination. She continued:

"After I returned to Thailand, the restart was a bit difficult, but today there's nothing in training that I can't do. I didn't need to change anything, I just needed to give it time and respect my body."
Janet Todd, the ONE interim atomweight Muay Thai and kickboxing world champion, is coming to take the crown from Rodrigues. The two expert strikers are booked to battle on March 24 at ONE Fight Night 8 on Prime Video.
All ONE Fight Night events are broadcast live and for free in North America via Prime Video.
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues on added motivation from her son
Allycia Hellen Rodrigues is proud that she was able to give birth and still return to world championship athletic form for her upcoming match against Janet Todd.
While speaking in an interview with ONE Championship, the atomweight Muay Thai world champion explained:
“This victory [at ONE Fight Night 8] is going to be very important for me because I’ve been without a fight for two years, but I want to prove that it makes no difference. I’ll continue to be the champion because I work every day to stay on top."
Her son continues to be a beacon of strength for her. She continued:
"Every drop of sweat, pain, and tiredness that I felt in my body, every moment I lost with my son, all this was worth it. Then it will be just joy with the result of my work.”
