Unbeaten ONE rising star Murad Ramazanov acknowledges that everyone suffers defeat at some point, especially fighters at the highest level of the sport.

The Russian, of course, has no plans of losing to Roberto Soldic at ONE on Prime Video 5: De Ridder vs Malykhin this Friday, December 2, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Manila, Philippines.

North American fans with existing Amazon Prime Video subscriptions will be able to watch the Russian grappler welcome the debuting Croatian live and for free in US Primetime.

However, given the unpredictability of mixed martial arts, he recently opened up about how he’ll deal with the possibility of losing his perfect 11-0 record somewhere down the line.

In an exclusive interview with ONE Championship, the 27-year-old admitted that this scenario has already crossed his mind:

“Every fighter loves having an undefeated record, but most of us lose it sooner or later. I hope I will be able to accept it with grace, if and when it happens, and mentally, I am preparing myself for it.”

Furthermore, the Dagestani standout said he sees losing as the ultimate learning experience and an opportunity to become an even better fighter:

“Most likely, it won’t be easy to accept defeat, but it will not break me. It will definitely teach me something, it might help me beat some bad habits, like going to bed late or not following a diet.”

After going 3-0 inside the circle, Ramazanov was expected to be next in line for a ONE welterweight world title shot. The Russian mauler ravaged Bae Myung Ho, Hiroyuki Tetsuka, and even former 185-pound king Zebastian Kadestam.

Looks like he’ll need one more convincing win to challenge the division’s new top dog, Christian Lee. Then again, Soldic is widely seen as the promotion’s next big thing.

Win or lose, Ramazanov will definitely bring his A-game and show the world that he’s also a force to be reckoned with.

Roberto Soldic says Murad Ramazanov hasn’t fought anyone of his caliber

Ramazanov has been tasked to stop the Soldic hype train – a daunting challenge -- much easier said than done.

‘Robocop’, after all, has won 20 of his first 23 career fights and is riding a seven-fight winning streak.

In an interview with ONE Championship, the Croatian praised Ramazanov’s stellar run so far but said he’ll be the one to give him his first career setback:

“You can see that I never chose an opponent, they pushed me straight away in the fire against a very tough guy. I respect him a lot, 11-0, but I can say that he’s never faced anybody like me. I'm something different. I'm a southpaw, I'm a very dangerous guy, and it's not going to be easy for him.”

The ONE welterweight division, meanwhile, has gained some new life following the ascension of now two-division world champion Christian Lee.

The Soldic versus Ramazanov world title eliminator will certainly determine who gets first dibs on ‘The Warrior’.
