The inaugural, reigning, defending ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Superbon is helping teammate Petchtanong Petchfergus prepare for his title fight against bantamweight kickboxing king Hiroki Akimoto.
No.3-ranked bantamweight contender Petchtanong will be competing for a world championship at ONE 163. The 37-year-old overcame an opening-round defeat in his ONE debut and has since beaten Zhang Chenglong.
Petchtanong recently spoke to ONE Championship about how his Banchamek Gym teammate has been helping to get him ready for his title fight:
"He gives me advice, reviews my form, and corrects my mistakes. If I practice alone, I won’t see my flaws. He also watched Akimoto’s match and analyzed my opponent for me as well."

Receiving that sort of intel from somebody as talented and knowledgeable as Superbon is priceless. It could be beneficial in Petchtanong's title fight.
Superbon credits Trainer Gae for pushing him to the limit
Superbon didn't get to this level all by himself. He has been guided by several world-renowned coaches such as Trainer Gae, who he linked up with prior to his promotional debut in 2020.
The 32-year-old revealed how Trainer Gae helped him reach new heights in an interview with ONE Championship:
“In terms of experience or techniques, I have them all. But what I lacked was someone who pushes me and sets a new goal for me. Like, when I hit the pads for five rounds, he will ask me to do seven. Or if I just run for five kilometers, he will make me run for eight. And that’s what I want.”
When it appeared as though the Thai kickboxer had hit his ceiling as a fighter, Trainer Gae helped the featherweight flourish in every way possible. The champ is yet to suffer a loss since teaming up with his new coach.
Make sure to tune in to ONE 163 on November 19 to watch Petchtanong Petchfergus challenge bantamweight kickboxing title holder Hiroki Akimoto, live from the Singapore Indoor Stadium.
