Jonathan Haggerty has learned a lot during his time as one of the top strikers in ONE Championship. Throughout his career, the Brit has made many changes, but one has proven to be the most significant.

Haggerty joined ONE and slotted right into the flyweight division. In a short time, he became the world champion and put on some of the most memorable fights in the weight class' history.

However, he quickly discovered that he was in a race against time when competing at flyweight because of how difficult it was to make the weight.

This has since been put behind him because after moving up to bantamweight, he looks faster and more powerful than ever before.

Now a two-sport world champion, he competes at the right weight class, which allows him to show his best side.

Haggerty spoke about this during a recent interview with ONE Championship:

"So at flyweight, I was actually, say 50 percent of myself. You know, I was tired, depleted. I wasn't myself. But it just goes to show that staying at the top of the food chain at flyweight with no energy."

Jonathan Haggerty needs to use this experience at ONE 168

In his next title defense at ONE 168, his opponent will be looking to make the same exact jump that Jonathan Haggerty made. Superlek is one of the best in the world at flyweight, but he has, at times, struggled to make the weight, which will certainly have affected his performances.

He will be moving up to bantamweight to challenge Haggerty for the Muay Thai world championship at the Ball Arena on September 6.

A crucial element of this fight is how Superlek will look up at bantamweight and whether Haggerty can use his experience in this division to his advantage.

Being the bigger and stronger man could prove to be decisive.
