ONE welterweight submission grappling king Tye Ruotolo was in his twin brother and fellow world champion Kade Ruotolo's corner in his second MMA match last week that the latter won by D'Arce choke in the opening round over Pakistani opponent Ahmed Mujtaba. It was a finish that Tye said he called once he saw the opening.
Following Kade's impressive submission victory at ONE 169: Malykhin vs. Reug Reug on Nov. 8 at the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. While they were reviewing the match, he relayed that at one point, he shouted out at his brother to go for a D'Arce finish.
He said:
"Right here, I was already yelling D'Arce, you know? It's funny, I just, I immediately started yelling D'Arce. But wait, on second thought, no, you should hit him. And then you D'Arced him. Okay, there you go."

The victory over Mujtaba at ONE 169 was the second straight for Kade Ruotolo in MMA after his first-round submission win over fellow American fighter Blake Cooper in his debut in June.
Against Mujtaba, he showed his improving stand-up game in the early goings, which paid huge dividends as he landed a overhand right that sent 'Wolverine' crashing to the canvas. From there, Ruotolo lorded over his opponent with ferocious ground and pound, which eventually led to an opening for a D'Arce choke and subsequently, the finish.
