“I also had better accuracy” - Kulabdam explains why he deservingly earned close decision nod against John Lineker

It seemed that John Lineker was on his way to a third-straight victory in Muay Thai when he scored an early knockdown against Kulabdam Sor Jor Piek Uthai at ONE Fight Night 27.

'Left Meteorite', though, got back on his feet and turned the tables around in the ensuing rounds, punishing the former bantamweight MMA world champion with volume and pressure.

Once the scorecards were read, many were shocked that Kulabdam came away with the unanimous decision victory, especially after being on the receiving end of arguably the most significant blow of the fight.

In his post-fight interview with Nick Atkin of the Bangkok Post, Kulabdam said he understands why some fans scored this match-up for Lineker.

"I think we all have different opinions. I think this is divided into two parts - either they think John won or I won," he said.

However, Kulabdam insisted that he landed the more precise shots and dictated the flow of the match after getting back up from the knockdown. The Thai heavy-hitter continued:

"The thing is, I know that getting a knockdown would score two points, but then I got back up. And in the second and third rounds, I did everything I could. I threw everything I had and I also had better accuracy, so that was why I won."

Kulabdam says he stuck to the gameplan after getting his bell rung

While Kulabdam is a battle-tested veteran with over 100 career fights, he admits John Lineker was the hardest hitter he's ever dealt with so far.

It only took one clean uppercut from 'Hands of Stone' for the Thai destroyer to lose his bearings and fall onto the canvas.

Still, Kulabdam takes great pride in surviving Lineker's deadly punch and valiantly coming up with a come-from-behind victory. He told ONE:

"I got knocked down in the first round. So that's why, you know, you have to be careful when it's a bit more difficult to carry on the game and expect to win it."
