There are big expectations hanging over Mayssa Bastos ahead of her second appearance under the ONE Championship banner.

The Brazilian competitor has built up a reputation as a serial winner throughout her career.

Not many can match the accomplishments of her career but at still just 26 years old, Bastos still has plenty more to strive for.

She will compete in the co-main event of ONE Fight Night 24 where she faces Danielle Kelly for the ONE atomweight submission grappling world championship.

Ahead of her return to Lumpinee Stadium, Bastos spoke about the secret to her success.

She is clearly very talented and has had the dedication to make it far in this sport from the start but she believes that her ability to learn and evolve is what has made her into the competitor you now see today.

Bastos spoke in a recent interview with ONE Championship about how she picks the brains of everyone she comes into contact with:

"All the people who have done and are part of my career, I try to absorb the best. I am shy and quiet, but well observant. I always try to absorb the best in people, whether it's through hard work, consistency, or the way the person behaves, whether he is a respectful person."

Mayssa Bastos has experience on her side

Danielle Kelly may have more experience competing in ONE Championship but high stakes are nothing new to Mayssa Bastos.

There isn't much that can phase her at this stage, hence the limited footage she has watched of her opponent heading into August 2.

Kelly believes that her opponent tends to let matches slip away from her once she starts losing but getting Bastos to the point is a task that is far easier said than done.

The Brazilian now looks to add a ONE world championship to her collection.

ONE Fight Night 24 will air live in US Primetime, free of charge for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
