Newly minted ONE featherweight kickboxing world champion Chingiz Allazov is looking to sustain his ONE Championship success and is in search of new grounds to conquer.

‘Chinga’ said that he is interested in fighting for another world title belt, particularly that held by lightweight kickboxing champion Regian ‘The Immortal’ Eersel, whom he has a different game plan for.

He shared his plans in an interview with SCMP MMA following his title conquest at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video on January 13:

“I like this fight. For me, no problem if my opponent is 77 kilos. I’m ready. I have power and he has power. I have another game plan for him. If ONE Championship gives me this fight, all right. Let’s do this.”

Azerbaijani-Belarusian fighter Chingiz Allazov was the latest to be added to ONE Championship’s roster of champions after taking down Superbon Singha Mawynn in impressive fashion at ONE Fight Night 6.

He lorded it over former champion Superbon with power punches that saw him finish the contest inside the opening minutes of the second round by way of knockout.

Prior to winning the title, Chingiz Allazov topped the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing Grand Prix to earn a shot at the belt against Superbon. Eersel, for his part, is both the ONE lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai champion.

Chingiz Allazov shoots down potential move to Muay Thai, wants to stay in kickboxing

Having recently reached the summit of the kickboxing division, Chingiz Allazov said that he will savor the moment for the time being and stay in the sport.

Following his impressive conquest of the featherweight kickboxing world title at ONE Fight Night 6 on Prime Video, ‘Chinga’ made it known that he intends to vie for another world championship belt. It gave the idea that he may make a foray into Muay Thai, a sport in which he has had previous experience competing.

In the post-fight press conference for ONE Fight Night 6, however, Allazov said that he will remain in kickboxing for the moment:

"Me going to Muay Thai is another situation. I don’t like it. Maybe I won’t focus 100 percent on this style. I don’t like fighting in other styles. We’ve had many fights in Muay Thai, but for 11 years, I haven’t fought in Muay Thai. I talked to my coach about this, you know, maybe we like this. But no. I say we focus only 100 percent now [on kickboxing]."

Allazov lost in his promotional debut in April 2021 at ONE on TNT 1 but has racked up four straight wins since and is showing no signs of slowing down.
