Newly crowned ONE atomweight submission grappling queen Danielle Kelly had some choice words for her former tormentor Jessa Khan.
While the 27-year-old BJJ ace already avenged her previous defeat to the IBJJF world champion, she still hasn’t forgotten their heated rivalry.
For one, Kelly didn’t appreciate Khan for supposedly using her inexperience grappling in a cage as an excuse for her defeat.
The Silver Fox BJJ affiliate made this clear in an interview on the Chewjitsu Podcast:

“I think now people, they take me more seriously right after I just basically beat her easily. I mean she had a back exchange, but if she studied rules and not make excuses then she probably would have beaten me.”
Jessa Khan was actually off to a hot start against Danielle Kelly in their do-over at ONE Fight Night 14 last month. The Art of Jiu-Jitsu star managed to take the American’s back early on and threatened with a rear-naked choke.
Unfortunately, she couldn’t get it under the chin and wasn’t able to score a catch from the referee. Kelly, on the other hand, took over after escaping the back take.
She displayed brilliant mastery of the Circle walls and asserted her dominance in their 10-minute grappling affair to get the unanimous decision victory and 26 pounds of gold along with it.
With both fierce grapplers now holding a win over the other, it’s safe to say that this won’t be the last time Kelly and Khan’s paths will ever cross.
We all can’t wait for round 3 of this epic rivalry.
