"I am better than him" - Kwon Won Il believes he's made massive strides ahead of Fabricio Andrade rematch at ONE 170

Kwon Won Il believes that he will secure revenge when he returns at ONE 170 on January 24. 'Pretty Boy' has been one of the top contenders in the bantamweight division for some time at this point.

Unfortunately for the third-ranked contender, a previous winning streak of his that had him climbing up the ladder was ended by Fabricio Andrade.

Their first meeting several years ago lasted less than one round as 'Wonder Boy' continued his incredible run of performances in the promotion, which eventually led to him becoming the divisional king.

Since then, Kwon has been able to rebound by putting together another streak of finishes to work his way back to Andrade.

At the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, it's up to the challenger to show that he has made the right adjustments and improvements in his game to ensure that the fight is more competitive this time around.

That's exactly what he spoke about during the recent press conference before he attempts to level the series and claim the Brazilian's ONE bantamweight MMA world title:

"Last fight, my mentality was not good, and then his striking was good. So I put in so much hard work and then [improved my] grappling and striking. Yeah, so now it's better than the last fight, and then I think the same - I am better than him."

Kwon Won Il has had a long time to think about what he would do differently

After stopping Kwon Won Il in the first round several years ago, Fabricio Andrade moved on to other challenges.

For the South Korean, this loss will have been on his mind ever since if he has been able to put this behind him to continue moving forward.

He has certainly done that but now his streak has come full circle with another meeting against the Brazilian striker.

It's now or never for Kwon Won Il in the biggest fight of his career.
