"I call him cotton Mike" - Mike Tyson's ex-rival shatters alleged drug use lie from Dapper Dan brawl, reveals bombshell details from street fight

Mike Tyson's infamous brawl with Mitch Green has lived on in infamy. Now, though, Green has taken part in a multi-part interview with DJ VLAD, providing missing context for the brawl. While many in the boxing world recount the clash as a one-sided beatdown in Tyson's favor, Green recalls a different encounter.

According to him, the blow that left him with his left swollen completely shut was actually a sucker punch. Moreover, he claims to have wanted to continue fighting Tyson, but that the latter departed before their brawl could escalate any further. The brawl led to legal issues for Tyson, who also suffered a broken hand.

Despite the incident taking place on Aug. 23, 1988, 36 years ago to be exact, Green's animosity toward Tyson has not lessened, especially given the allegations from Tyson that Green was high on phencyclidine (PCP).

"He lied. If I was high on PCP, if he hit me, I'd be stretched out. I'd have been knocked out, stretched out. If I was high, I would jump over. Come on, man. No, that's why I know. I know what happened. I know, I remember everything. Now he said I was high on PCP. He hit me and I jumped. He knocked me down and I jumped up. Yeah, okay."

Regardless, the brawl left Green with a severely swollen eye, but he takes pride in Tyson, one of the greatest knockout artists in combat sports history, breaking his own hand in their brawl.

"Yep, and I was pissed off. The same way I was in boxing matches with gloves on, a couple of people, black kid got up and just like that, and he hit me with his bare hand and broke it. So he turned 'Iron Mike,' I called him 'Cotton Mike.' He broke it. 'Cotton Mike.' Broke his hand. Broke his hand and ran."

The brawl was also notable for having taken place near a Dappen Dan's clothing store, where Tyson and his entouruage were shopping at the time.
