UFC middleweight Darren Till assessed both himself and his opponent, Dricus Du Plessis, just one month ahead of the fight.
After over a year on the sidelines, Darren Till is finally scheduled to make his comeback and intends to be much more active next year. The Brit currently has one win in his last five fights. He finds himself enduring the worst run of form he has ever had throughout his almost ten-year career.
During a recent interview with Michael Bisping, Darren Till heaped praise on Dricus Du Plessis ahead of their bout. However, he believes he can "really punish" his opponent as he looks to make a career resurgence.
"I'll assess him and I'll assess me. I think he's strong, he looks strong. He does a lot of strength and conditioning, so that's one point. He's very motivated, this is the biggest fight of his life, so he's obviously training really hard, that's another point. He seems like he knows what he wants and who he is, so that's another point. But he's quite reckless, he bounces in and out a lot... From my point of view, I think I'm quicker on the feet and lighter than him, I think I can really punish him in there."

Despite being known to be quite wild in the cage, the South African has lost just twice during his 19-fight career. Dating back to his debut in the sport in 2013, Du Plessis was knocked out just once. This was during his rematch against the incredibly talented Roberto Soldic.

Darren Till's less-than-impressive form inside the octagon
Darren Till burst onto the scene as a hot prospect who is vocal about his talents. He had aspirations of becoming a UFC champion, but where did it go wrong for the scouser?
After earning a decision victory over Stephen Thompson to improve his UFC record to 5-0-1, the Muay Thai specialist got into a head-on collision with then-welterweight champion Tyron Woodley. Unfortunately for Till, he came up short on the night.
This loss was followed by a sickening knockout defeat at the hands of Jorge Masvidal. A win over Kelvin Gastelum was followed by back-to-back defeats at the hands of Robert Whittaker and Derek Brunson, leaving him desperately searching for a victory.
