Japanese competitor Yuya Wakamatsu kept a close tab on Adriano Moraes' victory over Danny Kingad at ONE 169. While impressed with the Brazilian's win, he thinks Danny Kingad wasn't on a similar level as the former kingpin.
'Mikinho' did what he had his mind set on doing inside the Impact Arena last month, submitting 'The King' with relative ease.
Though the Filipino warrior stuck to his word to make life difficult for Moraes, his improvements was still no match to his rival's prowess for the mats.
Looking back at the Moraes-Kingad rematch, the No.2-ranked contender and former flyweight MMA world title challenger said:

"The fact that Moraes managed to win [over Kingad] was truly impressive. That said, I'm confident I can surpass that and finish him myself."
Yuya Wakamatsu, after all, has a score to settle with the American Top Team and Constrictor Team fighter. The Japanese star suffered same fate as Kingad did, succumbing to a submission from the 36-year-old veteran, in their world title fixture at ONE X.
It's now or never for Yuya Wakamatsu at ONE Fight Night 26
With the flyweight gold now vacant, there's no better time for Yuya Wakamatsu to enjoy another victorious night on the grandest stage of combat sports.
The Japanese competitor has made it two in succession after a similar streak of losses to Adriano Moraes and Woo Sung Hoon, looking much sharper and quicker in his decision-making and grappling exchanges.
Up against a competitor like Gilbert Nakatani, 'Little Piranha' might have to dig deep once more to guarantee a positive result.
Thankfully, the No.2-ranked divisional contender is no stranger to that.
He's overcome plenty of hurdles on his way to the upper echelons of the division, and he should be ready to make it another routine day in the office inside the Mecca of Muay Thai on fight night.
ONE Fight Night 26 will be available to active Amazon Prime Video subscribers live in U.S. prime for free this Friday, Dec. 6.
