Irish superstar Conor McGregor was last seen in action in July 2021 when he faced off against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. 'The Notorious' suffered a brutal leg injury in the opening round and lost the fight via doctor stoppage.
During his time recovering from the injury, it was reported that McGregor had opted out of the USADA testing pool. This led to many in the MMA community speculating whether the Irishman had done that in order to take PEDs and speed up the recovery process.
Former UFC bantamweight champion T.J. Dillashaw recently appeared on The Casuals MMA podcast where he spoke on the topic. Dillashaw shared that he attempted to pull off a similar move as McGregor allegedly did but added that things did not go his way.

"When I retired, it wasn't a real retirement. I mean, I did do the f**king Conor McGregor. It's like, I wanted to get healthy. Like, I had a surgery, it did not take... your rotator cuffs in your shoulder are muscles, right? So, how am I gonna get those muscles to become what they need to be? I'm gonna retire and come back and get out of the USADA pool or whatever it may be and get healthy."
"But unfortunately, those weren't in the cards... Ever since that day, I'm being told to get out of the sport for some reason. I always believe that life's got a purpose, you just gotta believe it and follow it and it'll work out for you. So, for me, I just got to flip that negative into what it is, you know."
