Chris Eubank Jr. will make his first appearance in the ring of 2024 when he faces Kamil Szeremeta on the undercard of Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol on Oct. 12. But the British boxer was nearly involved in a fight with former opponent Conor Benn in the fighter hotel ahead of the scheduled weigh-ins on Oct. 11.
Benn was set to face Eubank Jr. in October 2022, but less than a week before fight night he failed a drug test for ostarine. The fight was canceled, and re-scheduling the bout has proved to be difficult.
The heated boxing rivalry of their respective fathers, Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank, painted a thrilling backdrop for a potential clash between 'The Destroyer' and 'NextGen'.
Both men have made no bones about their dislike for one another, and their bad blood was on full display in Saudi Arabia ahead of Eubank Jr.'s upcoming fight.

During the face-off, 'NextGen' could be heard saying this:
"I like that."
Benn replied with:
"Like what? Like what? You're lucky you're fighting tomorrow, or I'd f*ck you up right now. Yeah, yeah."
The 35-year-old responded:
"See this guy comes in when I'm cutting weight."

Eddie Hearn responds to Chris Eubank Jr. accusing him of setting up Conor Benn altercation
Eddie Hearn, Conor Benn's longtime promoter, was accused of being the mastermind behind the heated altercation between 'The Destroyer' and Chris Eubank Jr. in Saudi Arabia on Oct. 11.
The chairman of Matchroom Boxing has previously traded words with Eubank Jr. after a failed negotiation period to re-schedule a bout with Benn.
Hearn is currently in Saudi Arabia working with Dmitry Bivol, with whom he has worked for Bivol's last ten fights. During a recent interview with iFL TV, the promoter was informed that 'NextGen' had pointed the finger at him for causing the altercation with Benn.
The 45-year-old said this:
"You were there [Hearn tells the interviewer]. You were interviewing us and someone said [Eubank Jr.] is coming. And then [Benn] turned around and stuck it on [Eubank Jr.]. Is that not what happened? Do you not what to confirm that?"
He continued:
"I'm not really in the business of setting something up, I don't need to set something up. I think that's really cringe to try and corner him in a hotel somewhere"
