Young MMA prospect Lea Bivins will make her ONE Championship debut this Friday at ONE on Prime Video 3. The talented wrestler, who was originally slated to make her debut in July, will finally step onto the global stage to meet another newcomer to ONE, Noelle Grandjean.
Speaking to the South China Morning Post (SCMP) regarding her big debut, ‘First Moon’ shared a desire to show off her grappling skills, however, she is ready to stand and trade if necessary:
“I would love to show my grappling off. Tiger Muay Thai has amazing striking, but I’m not too sure about the jiu-jitsu, grappling, or wrestling aspect, so I do plan on showcasing some of those skills. I’ve been working Muay Thai this whole entire camp at a whole different Muay Thai school just to get prepared for that. So I am definitely confident I could stand and bang with her, but if it goes to the ground, I do plan on showcasing some grappling skills.”
As an accomplished wrestler, Bivins will most certainly look to utilize her ground game to control the pace against Grandjean. At just 20 years old, Bivins has a laundry list of achievements which includes being a 2016 Regional, State, and National wrestling champion, a four-time NAGA champion, a 2019 United States Fight League Champion, and a 2019 Youth World Champion.

Lea Bivins is ready to test herself against the best in the world
Gearing up to make her professional MMA debut, Lea Bivins is already looking to challenge herself against the absolute best that ONE Championship has to offer:
“Before I end up fighting those top contenders in my division, I would like to get a few more fights under my belt. Obviously, I’m making my pro debut. I would like it to be about a year and a half to get my feet wet in the water, but I would like it to be soon. If it was offered sooner than that, I would just go out there and test myself.”
Before Bivins can start looking towards names like Stamp Fairtex and Angela Lee, she’ll have to first get past Noelle Grandjean. The Dutch debutant is currently undefeated in her pro MMA career with three straight victories, two coming by way of stoppage. With a submission and a knockout to her credit, Grandjean will be ready for wherever Lea Bivins attempts to take the action.
