Alyona Rassohyna clapped back at pundits questioning if she's deserving of her interim atomweight MMA world title shot. The Ukrainian grappling specialist, after all, hasn't fought since 2021, taking time away after giving birth to her two children.

For those who have doubts about her worthiness, Rassohyna urged everyone to look at her resume, particularly her last two fights in the world's largest martial arts organization. The 34-year-old veteran is the first fighter to defeat atomweight MMA world champion Stamp Fairtex in mixed martial arts.

Alyona Rassohyna told ONE in her pre-event interview:

"I'm confident in my abilities, no matter what the result was with Stamp. I won [against] her. We had some great fights. And the girls haven't shown competitive fights like she and I have. So I deserve this right to fight for this belt."

As it stands, Rassohyna and Stamp currently hold a victory over the other. It is worth noting, though, that both matches were extremely close. The Yarost Gym representative submitted Stamp with a guillotine choke at ONE: Unbreakable III.

While the three-sport queen bounced back with a split-decision victory at ONE: Empower, Rassohyna more than held her own in the rematch and proved she belongs up there with the best.

Alyona Rassohyna says Denice Zamboanga's opponents underestimated her striking

This coming Friday, Alyona Rassohyna will look to secure a third match with Stamp by winning the interim atomweight MMA crown against Denice Zamboanga at ONE Fight Night 27: Tang vs. Abdullaev on Prime Video.

'The Menace' is on a three-fight winning streak, where she surprised her opponents with a much-improved striking arsenal.

Rassohyna, however, vowed not to make the same mistake and derail the Filipina's world title aspirations.

The no.4 ranked atomweight MMA contender said:

"Their game plan was focused on takedowns, but their stand-up preparation was weak, which gave Denice an advantage in the stand-up.”

ONE Fight Night 27 will emanate from Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The full event will air live in US Primetime free for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
