Reigning and undisputed ONE lightweight and welterweight MMA world champion 'The Warrior' Christian Lee of the United States has spent the last two years away from competition and away from the spotlight.
In December of 2022, Lee's younger sister, fellow ONE Championship athlete 'The Prodigy' Victoria Lee, tragically took her own life. The young teenager's untimely passing sent shockwaves throughout the entire MMA industry, and the famous Lee family immediately went into mourning.
Fighting couldn't be further away from their minds.
Now, after two years on the sidelines, Christian Lee is back and ready to resume his career. He says retirement never crossed his mind, and he knew that one day, he would return to defend his gold.

In a guest appearance on The Brian Campbell Experience, Lee talked about staying busy in the gym while he was out, as he coped with the loss of his sister.
'The Warrior' said:
"For me, [this is] the work that I chose as a professional fighter. So it's not so much about like this big decision. For me, it's just getting in the gym, going to work, working hard, and then providing for my family. So it’s an added benefit that I enjoy what I do."
Lee is now set to return in what ONE Championship is calling the 'biggest comeback' in history.
