Adriano Moraes believes his experience advantage will play a factor in his upcoming fight against Danny Kingad.

Over the last two years, Moraes has only fought twice, both against the legendary Demetrious Johnson. The former eight-time ONE flyweight MMA world champion suffered back-to-back losses against Johnson and now looks to start a new chapter, as 'Mighty Mouse' has officially retired from the sport.

On Nov. 8, Moraes will make his 17th promotional appearance at ONE 169. The No. 1-ranked flyweight MMA contender has been matched up against No. 3-ranked Danny Kingad, who is coming off a loss against Yuya Wakamatsu in January.

In a recent, interview in Spanish with Combate, 'Mikinho' explained why he's confident heading into ONE 169:

"I have more experience there than him. I believe that I've improved a lot in my ground game, my striking side too. I've been training a lot there with several champions every day."

ONE 169 will showcase three world title fights inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The Nov. 8 event, including Adriano Moraes vs. Danny Kingad, can be seen live and for free by North American and Canadian viewers with an active Amazon Prime Video subscription.

Adriano Moraes and Danny Kingad will launch new chapter in flyweight MMA division

At ONE 168, Demetrious Johnson officially retired from MMA, creating a void in the ONE flyweight MMA division. It's unclear when the vacant title fight will be booked, but the winner of Adriano Moraes vs. Danny Kingad is expected to be featured.

Moraes secured a shocking upset win against Johnson for the flyweight strap in April 2021. Since then, 'Mighty Mouse' avenged his defeat twice and seemed unbeatable in the division until he retired.

Moraes now looks to regain ONE gold and solidify himself as the greatest flyweight in promotional history. It'll be easier said than done, as top contenders like Kingad plan to establish their legacy by becoming a world champion.

No. 2-ranked Yuya Wakamastu is another fighter to watch in the flyweight division. 'Little Piranha' holds a loss against Moraes and a 1-1 record against Kingad, so he's surely interested in fighting the winner of their matchup for the vacant strap.
