In the eyes of the current number one-ranked ONE bantamweight Muay Thai contender Nico Carrillo, reigning two-sport bantamweight king Jonathan Haggerty is avoiding a match with him.
Carrillo revealed this during his most recent interview with ONE Championship ahead of his bantamweight Muay Thai match against number four contender Saemapetch Fairtex on July 5 at ONE Fight Night 23, which goes down inside the Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
'The King of the North' boldly claimed:
"I feel like Haggerty's avoiding me. I know I'll beat Jon."

The much-awaited match between Carrillo and Haggerty will have to wait a little longer as the latter will face the reigning ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion and old nemesis Superlek Kiatmoo9 on September 6 at ONE 168: Denver.
Haggerty will defend the ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title against Superlek at Ball Arena in Denver, Colorado.
On the other hand, Carrillo is tasked to take on fellow top-five bantamweight Muay Thai contender Saemapetch Fairtex in a crucial matchup that could determine his fate.
Nico Carrillo wants to solidify his case for the world title with a win over Saemapetch
Now that Carrillo is booked to face a dangerous opponent, he will shift his focus against Saemapetch in an effort to further solidify his case as the next world title challenger, regardless of who comes out as the victor on September 6.
The Deachkalek Muay Thai Academy athlete would also want to add Saemapetch to his growing list of victims under the world's largest martial arts organization which already has the likes of Furkan Karabag, Muangthai PK Saenchai, and Nong-O Hama.
Also, Carrillo aims to score another spectacular highlight-reel victory and maintain his 100% finish rate.
ONE Fight Night 23 will be available live and free to all Prime Video subscribers in North America on July 5 during U.S. primetime.
