At ONE on Prime Video 3, Regian Eersel entered with a single world championship and left with two. The kickboxing king had a challenging fight to earn a world title in Muay Thai this past week.

'The Immortal' Eersel is now the ONE lightweight kickboxing and Muay Thai world champion. He made history when he became a two-sport titleholder by defeating Sinsamut Klinmee for the Muay Thai gold.

The Thai-born Klinmee launched leg kicks against his opponent with authority. Eersel had to re-adjust his game plan as the damage began to stack up over the five-round showdown. In an interview with ONE Championship, 'The Immortal' explained:

"Yeah, I was feeling the leg kicks. And I was thinking okay, I have to block the leg kicks, otherwise, I'm going to get hurt in the later rounds. And I did. If you saw the fight, I did break the leg kicks in the third, fourth, or fifth rounds. And yeah, just head on with the game plan."

Ultimately, the 29-year-old Regian Eersel made history when the judges scored the fight in his favor. In his post-fight interview, he was elated to hold two world titles in ONE Championship:

“I feel great man, I feel very great, I can’t describe this feeling. I’ve written history right now. I’m the first Dutch-Surinamese that did it. You can call me champ-champ now, champ-champ.”

Regian Eersel says you must focus on winning

After defending his kickboxing crown in four bouts, Regian Eersel has now added a Muay Thai world title to his name as well. The Surinamese-Dutch fighter explained ahead of this ONE on Prime Video 3 fight that his attitude is that one must focus on winning.

In ONE's virtual media day faceoff interview, Eersel explained:

"How you can prepare for it, I really don’t know because I never got KO’d. When you’re going to fight, you also think about losing a fight. That’s normal. There’s both sides of winning and losing. But you have to make sure that you don’t think too much about losing. You have to think about winning, that’s why you fight. You fight to win, that’s the goal."

'The Immortal' Eersel is now on a 20-fight win streak between kickboxing and Muay Thai. Along the way, he has defeated notable fighters such as Arian Sadiković, Nieky Holzken, Anthony Njokuani, Brad Riddell, Jo Nattawut, and Sinsamut Klinmee. Eersel is definitely focused on winning.
