The first time Jonathan Haggerty made the move to bantamweight, he could immediately feel the difference in power.
After making his mark in the flyweight division—including a couple of iconic clashes with ONE flyweight Muay Thai titleholder Rodtang—'The General' made the move to 145 for a clash with Russian standout Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE on Prime Video 4.
Looking back on the bout during a career retrospective on his YouTube channel, Haggerty admitted that while their styles were similar, there was a clear difference in the power.
"We both had sort of similar styles," Haggerty said. "When I went in, he went out, and when he came in to strike, I went out. So it was a bit difficult in this fight. He was strong when he was punching, I felt the difference between flyweight and bantamweight."

Haggerty ultimately won the bout via unanimous decision, booking himself a ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world title opportunity against then-champion Nong-O Hama.
Jonathan Haggerty meets Superlek in massive Muay Thai matchup at ONE 168: Denver
After scoring an earth-shattering knockout of Nong-O at ONE Fight Night 9 last year, Jonathan Haggerty added another 26 pounds of gold to his collection, KO'ing Fabricio Andrade seven months later to win the vacant ONE bantamweight kickboxing world championship.
On Friday, September 6, Haggerty will return to the Circle when ONE Championship heads back to the United States for ONE 168, emanating from Ball Arena in The Mile High City—Denver, Colorado. There, 'The General' will put his bantamweight Muay Thai title on the line against 'The Kicking Machine' Superlek Kiatmoo9.
Sitting as the current ONE flyweight kickboxing world champion, Superlek will seek two-sport glory as he challenges for his first Muay Thai title under the ONE banner.
