Former ONE flyweight Muay Thai world champion Rodtang Jitmuangnon is both excited and worried about sharing the circle with Takeru Segawa in the headlining fight of ONE 172 on March 23, 2025, inside the Saitama Super Arena in Saitama, Japan.
During the ONE 172 press conference, 'The Iron Man' elaborated on his thoughts heading into their flyweight kickboxing bout:
"I've watched Takeru's fights and honestly, I felt scared, but it made me excited. I think his kickboxing style is strong. I'm really looking forward to March and want to show my kickboxing style to the world."

Rodtang, one of the most durable combat sports athletes today, was in attendance for the Japanese kickboxing superstar's flyweight kickboxing matchup against Burmese rising star Thant Zin at ONE Friday Fights 81 this past September.
After Takeru rallied back in round two to knock out the 20-year-old finisher, Rodtang entered the ring, and Takeru took it as his chance to call out the Thai hero to a fight.
The Jitmuangnon Gym star agreed but warned Takeru that he could be biting off more than he could chew.
Rodtang worried for Takeru after knockdown against Thant Zin
Thant Zin shocked fans around the world when he dropped Takeru with a lunging left hand late in the opening round. Rodtang admitted he was concerned for the Team Vasileus star at that moment.
Speaking with the Bangkok Post following Takeru's come-from-behind victory, he said:
"The very second that I saw him get knocked down, I was surprised, and I was also scared that I would not get to fight him. So I have to give him a lot of respect for coming back up and winning that fight. So, yeah, I will have to see him soon."
