Akbar Abdullaev is living proof that a man who fights for his family can accomplish anything.

The 27-year-old from Kyrgyzstan has taken ONE's featherweight MMA division by storm, devastating everyone in his path en route to a well-earned world title shot.

This Friday, Jan. 10, Abdullaev will look to dethrone undisputed featherweight MMA world titleholder Tang Kai in the curtain closer of ONE Fight Night 27 at Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

As always, the Al Munar Team and Tiger Muay Thai representative will those he holds dear in his heart as motivation to succeed in arguably the biggest moment of his professional career.

'Bakal' said in a ONE Championship interview:

“My main motivation is my family, my loved ones, and my people. I fight for them and want to be a valuable member of my society.”

Akbar Abdullaev's rise from an unheralded gem into a possible world champion is indeed as inspiring as it comes.

The Kyrgztani knockout menace has raced to a perfect 11-0 record, which is made more impressive by his 100 percent finishing rate.

Abdullaev proved he could continue his winning ways at the highest levels when he decimated Oh Ho Taek, Aaron Canarte, and Halil Amir under the ONE banner.

Akbar Abdullaev doesn't see anything out of the ordinary from Tang Kai

Tang Kai has won all eight of his bouts in the home of martial arts, including back-to-back victories over former featherweight MMA world champion Thanh Le.

Despite the Chinese warrior's glaring resume, Akbar Abdullaev doesn't see what the fuss is all about.

In the same interview, 'Bakal' admitted that the champ's skills are noteworthy but isn't anything he hasn't seen before:

"I think Tang Kai is a cool-headed and experienced fighter, but I don't see anything surprising," he said.

ONE Fight Night 27 will air live in US primetime free for Prime Video subscribers in the United States and Canada.
