After successfully defending his ONE bantamweight Muay Thai world championship earlier this year, Jonathan Haggerty had his sights set on one opponent. It isn't often that you have the opportunity to put together a true dream fight for the fans but that's what fell into place for ONE 168.

As the promotion heads to Denver on Sept. 6, the Ball Arena will play host to a blockbuster main event take place between Haggerty and his challenger, Superlek Kiatmoo9.

'The General' has been working towards this date for some time now but the same can't be said for his opponent.

After the fight was already announced, Superlek kept himself busy by taking on Kongthoranee Sor Sommai at ONE Friday Fights 68, where he got the win.

Despite having this recent footage to go away and analyze, Haggerty revealed in a recent interview that he doesn't tend to do the research himself.

The Brit told the South China Morning Post that he prefers to concentrate on himself and leave that stuff to his team:

"But I actually didn't watch that fight. I always let my trainer watch the fights. So I don't focus on what he's going to be doing. I focus on what I'm going to be doing. So we're well prepared. Let's just say that."

Jonathan Haggerty will have learned from this fight

Even if he didn't personally watch this fight, Jonathan Haggerty will have learned vital lessons from Superlek's last outing via the instructions of his coaches.

'The Kicking Machine' was his usual world-class self in this fight but he did show a few new wrinkles to his game that are sure to give the champion's corner some interesting problems to solve.

The elite Thai striker is a true master of his craft meaning that regardless of how he looked against Kongthoranee, it was always going to be a tough night on Sept. 6.
