"I haven't forgotten" - Kwon Won Il concedes Fabricio Andrade was the better fighter in their first meeting

Third-ranked ONE bantamweight MMA competitor Kwon Won Il might not like to admit it, but even he had to acknowledge that reigning ONE bantamweight MMA king Fabricio Andrade had his number when they first fought in June 2022 at ONE 158.

'Pretty Boy' recently spoke with the promotion to reflect on his defeat to Andrade, saying:

"I haven't forgotten. I definitely haven't forgotten. I recall the beginning, the middle, the end, the sound of breathing. I remember everything about the match. At that time, he was a better fighter than me."

Kwon's loss to 'Wonder Boy' is unquestionably etched in his mind as it was the first and only time he suffered a knockout defeat under the ONE banner to date.

The Brazilian sensation then challenged John Lineker for the bantamweight MMA world championship in October 2022. Andrade won the gold via TKO in their February 2023 rematch after their initial clash ended in a no-contest due to an accidental low blow to 'Hands of Stone'.

Meanwhile, Kwon earned his opportunity to challenge Andrade in the co-main event of ONE 170 on Friday, Jan. 24, after logging three straight TKO victories.

Kwon Won Il has a unique opportunity to exact his revenge against Fabricio Andrade while winning his first ONE world championship, which he hopes to do so in violent fashion at ONE 170.

In an interview on the Anything Goes podcast, the 29-year-old said:

"You know, if he gets beaten up and he gets hit by me, he would be so surprised that he might even cry. It's gonna hurt him bad. It might make him cry, you know. So let's see."
