After announcing his retirement from mixed martial arts, P4P great Demetrious Johnson is enjoying the opportunity to pick and choose where he competes next.
'Mighty Mouse' laid down his ONE flyweight MMA world championship at ONE 168 in Denver, Colorado, announcing that he was officially walking away from the sport after 20 years of dominance that saw him capture titles and smash records in some of the biggest combat sports organizations on the planet.
Johnson continues to compete, though he's traded in his four-ounce gloves for a gi. 'DJ' has been regularly competing in — and dominating — some of the biggest BJJ competitions in the sport.

Offering some insight into where he's at in his career during an interview with MMA Fighting, Johnson said:
"Yeah, and it’s fun. It’s something fun. I’m grateful and I’m blessed that I’m in a position where I’m like ‘I think I’m gonna do PANS this next year’ or ‘I think I’m gonna do IBJJF masters.’ I’m in a position where I get to dictate where I want to go compete."

Demetrious Johnson shuts the door on potential return to MMA
After establishing himself as the greatest flyweight in MMA history and perhaps the best pound-for-pound fighter of all time, Demetrious Johnson has nothing left to prove.
So it should come as no surprise that 'DJ' has effectively slammed the door shut on a potential return to mixed martial arts:
"For me, I just don’t like mixed martial arts competing. I get enjoyment out of doing it in jiu-jitsu and going like IBJJF and doing that stuff. So for me, I just don’t see a point in coming back. Like, what if I were to come back to fighting, what would I do?"
It's an unfortunate bit of news for fight fans who were still holding out hope, but at least we can still see 'Mighty Mouse' put his craft on display at future BJJ tournaments.
